Riding the T [10.9]

I never thought I would see the day that I admit to enjoying public transportation but I feel that it is imperative that you all are made aware that I love the T it is so much fun and if nothing more its like a 20 minute period of time to just do nothing and enjoy doing nothing on the way to work.. its relaxing really. I honestly do love it. I cant believe how many times I am saying it.. anyhow when slash if you come to visit me in Boston make sure to take the T its fun fun fun. And if nothing more it’s the perfect place for people watchin. Felt you should all know. You see some of the most unique people, some of the most odd couples [like the one sitting across from me right now. If I could take a picture without it being weird I would but I cant so I wont but use your imaginations. :)

Loves Always!

Boston Conservatory Class of 2014 [10.8]

BOCO

So. Even though I don’t go to the Boston Conservatory or BOCO I feel that I should just let the world know that today I had the pleasure of getting to know a bunch of people from the class of 2014 and they are all such cool people.[please note that I am not doing this post as a form of kissassery but as an informatory sort of thing..] they are so much fun to be around and just listen to them talk even. They are such a fun energetic group it’s amazing. They are amazing.

Since I was eight years old I knew that I wanted to be an architect, but when I was with them today it really made me wonder if I made the right career choice. I mean I know I will love what I plan to do but will I love the people that I will be working with? It really did for one of the first times in my life make me wonder if I chose the right career… I then remembered that I need dollars.

But just know world [or rather the 5 people that will read this…] that the class of 2014 at Boston Conservatory is a truly awesome group of people. And I advise each and every one of you to meet and make friends with a ‘theatRE person’ as it will make your life more fun and full of energy. But, if not anything else they will make you smile.

Who Kicks Ass? STARBUCKS DOES!!! [10.7]

Starbucks

It is shocking to me the amount of people that find harmony and happiness and such at Starbucks. What is it about the place that makes it so amazing? Instinctively I feel that I should naturally respond to that question by saying coffee, but then I was thinking.. There are hundreds of coffee shops around and more than a few of them are not of the Starbucks variety… and more than a few of those few are not quite comparable at best. So what is it about Starbucks specifically that makes it just totally kick ass?

How does Starbucks kick ass for you?

I think that for me… the reasons are [1]the options: You can stop in a snag a coffee on the way to work or you can stop in and stay a while. [2] The staff: the people that work at starbucks have such amazing personalities and attitudes that you cannot help but to just be drawn to them and their infectious personalities, I feel like they actually care for each customer. Like their drink is a gift, from their heart to yours or something of significance. Why is that?

In summation I feel it is only fair to finish by saying that I truly do love and cherish my Starbucks and all my fellow Starbucksians:)

Eaten by a Cloud [10.6]

Have you ever flown through a cloud so thick that all you see is unchanging and yet slightly ‘morphic’ white that simply engulfs the plane? While flying to Boston [YAY!! GO BOSTON & MASSHOLES!!!] this happened and I know it sounds silly but I sort of felt like the earth was eating me. [for lack of better term] It was really rather eye opening—oddly it was one of the few moments I saw nothing of the outside world—I really felt like I was subject to the planet and its ways. It was interesting to have a feeling so lacking in control. I mean my safety as well as the safety of a few hundred people was in the hands of two pilots who couldn’t see any more than I.

An interesting feeling.

On My Way [10.5]

On My Way…

Sitting at the SLC International Airport I say ‘AU Revoir Salt Lake Shity—I mean City.’ I know it does not really sound like I mean that –at all—but really I say that with love. Salt Lake City will always be home, I will truly miss it. I will miss the mountains –just like Alice Ripley does;)—I will miss all my loved ones, all the people I met, all the people I didn’t. I will miss the way the sun looks as it rises through the trees and sets into the salty waters of the lake setting the sky alive in orange yellow and pink. I will miss the norms, my bedroom, my Starbucks, my sissy especially –MUAH! Love you so, so much— my numerous mothers (Patty, I love you so.) my new friends and family from work and such.. I could go on and on for pages and pages times ten. Just as there are things I will miss there are certainly things that I would not. Such as, the lack of a bi-blockly Starbucks or the severely one sided culture or the smaller than I would prefer population . . . among other things;)

If you were to slash are to leave Salt Lake, what would you miss?

…what would you not miss?

On My Way… Again

Sitting now at the Cincinnati airport I have few things to say. But I already love the over abundance of people and the busy ‘coffee! coffee!! coffee!!!’ feel and I am not even in Boston yet! I love the diversity as well. On my left a New Yorker with thick glasses a book and long auburn hair, on my right a Californian male overdressed because he thought everything that was not beachy sun would be cold or something like that, and across the isle from me.. an outspoken firecracker working the terminal door who rather than using the loud speaker to alert us we may board decided to yell… very loudly. I like her quite a bit.

“ZONE 4!!” She yells. That would be me! So, I’m off so long Ohio.

Hello Massholes!!!

OH MY GOD THERE IT IS!
I SEE IT!!

I SEE BOSTON!!!

The Elixir of Life. [10.4]

If somebody were to come up to me and say "What is your elixir of life?" I would say --without missing a beat--
"Coffee!"
Coffee is something I could not and cannot live without. I drink it every morning, I drink it every afternoon, and i drink it every night. I drink it more than I drink water. -probably not the healthiest choice but oh well shit happens- I get the shakes if I go to long without my coffee.

But then I got to thinking --and we all know nothing good ever comes from Dillion thinking-- is coffee really my "elixir?"

Sure coffee is my staple but is it my elixir? and if coffee is not my elixir... WHAT IS?

an elixir to me is something that gives you the strength you need to move from one day to the next time and time again as we all do so what is it that gives me that strength?
is it hunger?
is it seeing new things?
is it fear?
is it the excitement of what lies ahead?
is it the norms we set in place for ourselves?
is it your family?
what is it?
I can honestly say that I don't know what my elixir is. It might be all of those things, it might be one of them I really don't have any idea but... it makes me curious...

WHAT'S YOURS?

Boston! [10.3]

In 15 Days from today I will journey to Boston Mass to study architecture.
i am so excited for the move and for my beautiful apartment!
I love how exciting life can be when you want it to be.

That is my sentiment for the day.
Make your life exciting if you want it to be exciting, make it boring if you want it to be boring, just don't wait around for somebody else to do it for you.
